Technical Tour

The tour group meets at 8:00 am and leaves the Hotel New Otani Makuhari (East entrance) at 8:15 am.
The tour returns back to the Hotel New Otani Makuhari at 7:00 pm.

The tour itinerary covers visits to:

1. Central Research Institute of Electric Power Industry (Abiko district)

   Test facilities related to plant safety design, including seismic and tsunami readiness.
2. Japan Atomic Energy Agency Oarai Research and Development Center
   Choose to view one of three types of reactors:
   “Joyo (Fast Reactor)”, “HTTR (GasReactor)”, “JMTR( Irradiation Reactor)” Please understand that, due to numbers, your first choice might not be available.

Tour Route and Time Schedule

Tour limited to 24 persons

First come, first served basis.
Participants in the ICONE23 student program will join the tour.

Important Note

Participation in visits to JAEA reactors is limited to person from countries that are signatories to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT).

All visitors must bring a photo ID with them.

-	Overseas visitors must bring their passport with them.
-	Japanese visitors must bring a driver’s license or other photo ID with them.

Cost - JPY5000 (entry fee)

Includes cost of the bus and a boxed lunch.

Clothing and footwear must satisfy safety requirements that are designed to minimize potential exposure to industrial hazards.

Footwear Safety Requirements

-	Shoes must be sufficiently sturdy for an industrial environment.
-	Recommended footwear: Occupational footwear consisting of a leather upper and polyurethane, rubber or slip-resistant outsoles.
-	The following footwear prohibited: Shoes with nylon, canvas or mesh uppers Heels over 2 inches high Heels that can become stuck in grating or in holes less than 1 inch in diameter Shoes with open toes, open heels or open sides Sandals Moccasins or shoes with a thin sole that easily collapses when subjected to slight pressure on the sides

Clothing Safety Requirements

-	The following clothing is prohibited: Tank tops Shorts of any kind

Cancellation policy

Registration cancellations must be notified in writing to the Registration Desk via e-mail.
Cancellations made through March 13th will receive a refund minus a processing fee.
Transfer costs for refunds will be borne by the person making the cancellation.
No refunds will be made after March 14th.
