Climate
Big-island is winter season in March. The average daytime temperature is 78 degrees (25.6 C). Temperatures at night are approximately 10 degrees F. lower. Trade winds keep things comfortable year-round, so any time of year is a good time to visit Big-island.
Currency
Hawaii’s currency is the US dollar. Traveler’s checks are not necessary since credit cards are widely accepted and ATM machines are everywhere. Please do not forget to bring some money in USD by cash or credit card for your personal expenses during the forum.
Dress Code
Please dress accordingly and appropriately for a scientific meeting.
Electricity
Electricity in the U.S. is 120 volts (120V) at 60 cycles (60 Hz) per second. If your device does not accept this voltage, you will need a voltage converter
Insurance
The conference organizers and secretariat cannot take any responsibility for accidents that may occur during a participant’s stay in Big-island. Participants are strongly recommended to take out their own personal travel insurance (medical, personal accident, and luggage) for the duration of their trip in their home countries prior to departure.

Hawaii follows Hawaii Standard Time (GMT-10 hours), which is 5 hours behind Eastern Standard Time and 2 hours behind Pacific Standard Time. Hawaii does not observe Daylight Savings Time so add one extra hour to the time difference during this period (March through November).
