ABOUT THE CONFERENCE

Welcome Message

Welcome to the 10th International Conference on Manufacturing, Machine Design and Tribology (ICMDT 2025). On behalf of the Executive Committee, I would like to welcome and thank you all for attending this conference.

This conference will be hosted by the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers and the Korean Society of Mechanical Engineers and will be held in Himeji, Japan, from April 23 to 25, 2025. For the past 20 years, ICMDT has provided participants with a forum for the exchange of information and international exchange in the fields of machine building, design, technology and science in the field of tribology. This year's conference will feature many interesting research presentations, including four keynote lectures during the conference. We will welcome many researchers from academia and industry from various countries around the world to Himeji.

Himeji, the host city of the conference, is located in the center of Japan and is the central city of the Harima region. Himeji has functioned as the administrative center of the region since the Nara period (710-794), and in the Edo period (1603-1868), the “Shirasagi-jo” castle, known as a World Heritage site today, was built its present-day form. Since the Industrial Revolution, Harima region including Himeji city became one of Japan's leading industrial centers, and has remained an important part of the Japanese industry and economy to this day. It is the perfect place for mechanical engineering researchers and engineers from all over the world to gather.

I hope that this conference will be a catalyst for friendship and future technological development among the participants. I would also like to thank the keynote speakers for taking time out of their busy schedules to give us their valuable presentations.

The international conference is a very meaningful opportunity for members to share the latest results and trends in a wide range of related fields from around the world. I hope that the ICMDT2025 will lead to lively discussions in the fields of mechanical manufacturing, design, and tribology, and the outcomes of this Conference will help to create a brighter future.

About ICMDT2025

This conference is an international conference hosted by the Elemental Lubrication Design Department that is held alternately in Japan and Korea once every two years. We are looking for technical presentations based on the theme not only from Japan and Korea, but also from a wide range of Asian countries. The lecture will be given in English. The conference will consist of special invited lectures, general technical lectures, poster sessions, and technical information exchange sessions. Young presenters at the poster session will be selected for the excellent poster award. We plan to publish the papers presented at this international conference in a special issue of JSME or KSME (subject to the same peer review process as usual). This conference also serves as the 24th Elemental Lubrication Design Division Lecture. For outstanding presentations by members (Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers members), we will select (1) Outstanding Presentation Award, (2) Encouragement Presentation Award, and (3) Young Excellent Presentation Fellow Award.
