Introduction
We are pleased to invite you to participate in the Twelfth International Conference on Motion and Vibration Control (MOVIC 2014) to be held 3-7 August, 2014 in Sapporo, Japan. MOVIC is an event that is organized once every two years. Its aim is to stimulate contacts between scientists active in the area of Motion and Vibration Control and engineers of virtually every field. It started in Yokohama, Japan in 1992 and has been held in Japan in 1994, 1996, 2002, Switzerland in 1998, Australia in 2000, USA in 2004, Korea in 2006, Germany in 2008, Tokyo in 2010, and USA in 2012. The purpose of this MOVIC is to discuss recent progress in the fields of motion and vibration control and their application to the industrial, economical and environmental issues. It is hoped that the conference will encourage interdisciplinary researches as well as international cooperation in these fields.
