Back on Our Network in Biomechanics |
We are pleased to announce that the 6th Japan-Switzerland Workshop on Biomechanics (JSB2023) will be held as an onsite event from August 29 (Tuesday) to September 1 (Friday), 2023 in Otaru, Hokkaido, Japan. This workshop was originally planned to hold in 2020 but has been extended for the last 3 years because of the pandemic situation. Nevertheless, we have been pushing biomechanics research forward strongly and it is now time to get back to reconnecting our network. We have had a long-term collaboration to hold the workshop alternately in Japan and in Switzerland, offering great opportunities for biomechanics researchers and students from both countries to be actively involved in one forum to share their cutting-edge research and to promote mutual friendships. The 1st workshop was held at Les Diablerets (Switzerland) in 2001, led by Prof. Jean-Jacques Meister, Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne, EPFL and by the late Prof. Emeritus Kozaburo Hayashi, Osaka University, followed by the 2nd in Kyoto in 2005, the 3rd in Engelberg in 2009, the 4th in Shima in 2014, and the 5th in Zermatt in 2017. JSB2023 will cover a broad range of topics in biomechanics ranging from basic research to clinical applications. We anticipate an exciting program of oral and poster presentations, an excursion, and opportunities to (re-)connect with colleagues and friends. We are looking forward to seeing you in Hokkaido. |
